  1. ATM INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR WINDOWS 3.1 AND WIN95:

  3. Double-click on the atm3_02 folder.
  4.  
  5. Double-click on install.exe icon.        
  6. ATM Installer window will appear on your screen.    
  7.  
  8. Click on the ATM Install button.
  9.  
  10. Windows will automatically create a directory for ATM and your
  11. PrintGear fonts
  12.  
  13. Installation of ATM and your 78 PrintGear fonts will begin 
  14. automatically.  
  15.  
  16. After installation is complete you will need to restart Windows to 
  17. initialize ATM.

  21. ATM CONTROL PANEL FOR WINDOWS 3.1
  22.  
  23. To Delete a Font:
  24.  
  25. Double-click on the Main menu icon.    
  26.  
  27. Doube-click on the ATM Control Panel icon.
  28.  
  29. Within the ATM Control panel you can remove any fonts you don't 
  30. want resident on your hard drive. Use the scroll bar to view your     
  31. computer and PrintGear fonts in this panel.

  33. Click on the font you want to remove to highlight it, e.g., 
  34. Arquitectura
  35.  
  36. Click on the 'Remove' button to delete Arquitectura from your 
  37. system.
  38.  
  39. ATM will verify the removal of font, e.g., 'Remove Arquitectura?'
  40.     
  41. Click on 'Yes' to remove font.  Click on 'No' if you want the font 
  42. to remain on your system.
  43.  
  44. Click on 'Exit' to return to the Main menu.

  48. Double-click on the Main menu icon.

  63. selection will be displayed.  Click on the desired font, e.g., 
  64. Arquitectura.      Arquitectura will now be highlighted.

  66. Click 'Add' on the ATM Control Panel.  Once you've clicked 'Add'     
  67. you will see a list of fonts now installed on your hard drive.

  133. Adding and Removing Fonts while Applications are Active:
  134.  
  135. You can add and remove ATM fonts without restarting Windows. 
  136. When you use ATM to add and remove fonts while other 
  137. applications are running, the font changes are usually 
  138. automatically reflected in the application font menus. 
  139. Some applications require that you re-select your printer 
  140. before the ATM font changes appear in font menus. A few 
  141. applications build their font menus when they are initially 
  142. launched. You must restart these applications to see ATM 
  143. font changes in their font menus.

  147. IMPORTANT NOTE:
  148.  
  149. Font Menu Names, Style Groups, and PostScript Font Names
  150. Every PostScript font contains a specific Windows menu name, 
  151. which may differ from the original PostScript font name. For 
  152. example, when you see the font Bookman in the font menu 
  153. of a typical Windows application, you are actually using 
  154. the PostScript font Bookman Light. In Windows, fonts may 
  155. be arranged in style groups of up to four fonts. Each font 
  156. is designated a style: regular, italic, bold, and bold italic.
  157.  
  158. In a typical Windows application, a style group is represented 
  159. by a single name in the font menu. Selecting this name is 
  160. the same as selecting the regular font in the style group. 
  161. You can access the other fonts in the style group by selecting 
  162. the bold and italic style attributes in the application.

  164. In the ATM Control Panel, each member of a style group is 
  165. listed individually by its Windows menu name, plus the style 
  166. link. For example, with its four different styles, Helvetica 
  167. appears as 
  168.     Helvetica
  169.     Helvetica,BOLD
  170.     Helvetica,BOLDITALIC
  171.     Helvetica,ITALIC.

  173. Many typeface families contain more than four fonts. For 
  174. example, the Adobe Garamond family contains six different fonts. 
  175. Since Windows only allows four fonts per style group, the 
  176. typeface family must be broken up into two style groups: 
  177. AGaramond (four fonts) and AGaramond Bold (two fonts). The 
  178. following table shows the correspondence between the Windows 
  179. menu name (the name you see in your applicationÆs Font menu) 
  180. and the PostScript font name for each font in these two style 
  181. groups:

  191. Some display or decorative fonts have only one style and were 
  192. designed with a specific style and weight in mind.
